TEACHING
My practice is based on different improvisation strategies and instant composition techniques, bringing awareness towards what is the essence of movement: the present moment, here and now, and how it affects the body. Through different practices, looking at the performance act from different perspectives, I lead my students to experience what full performativity is, as David Zambrano, Milan Tomasik, Edivaldo Ernesto, Thomas Hauert among others leaded me to experience it. Bringing awareness towards each self, in communication within the group and the surrounding space, I encourage my students to bring the body on unexplored paths, triggering their responsibility and self-awareness.

INSTANT OBSERVATION

(Advanced and professional dancers)

“Movement is a muscle activation, in a specific direction in space, at a certain speed.” Playing with these parameters, analysing motion with a very analytical approach, the class develops by exploring some physical tasks and simple ideas that, combined one another, bring dancers to experience their limits. I look for a steady performance state, total awareness and openness. It is about the approach to movement, rather than the movement itself.

INandOUT from the floor

  (Intermediate)

The class aims activating a constant recharging energy flow between the floor and the dancers. Relaxing all the unconscious and inefficient tensions in the body, stimulating the use of weight and gravity, we are going to deepen the experience of verticality and spiral. Simple movement patterns, anatomic principles and energetic studies combined together are the ingredients to make the performer’s body a sophisticated machine in constant communication between up and down, in and out.

- IN/AND/OUT - 73% OUTDOOR TRAINING-

(for professional performers, actors and dancers)

Conscious, communicative, perceptive, a body connected within itself and with the environment outside; this is the goal of the research that will be proposed during “IN/and/OUT - 73% outdoor training-”.

Addressed to performers of any kind (dancers, actors, circus artists and curious people with a minimum of knowledge of the body) who believe in the body as their primary communication channel, the laboratory will be divided into different stages, each with a specific goal.

Focusing on different anatomy notions, stimulating sensibility towards the senses, working on different moving dynamics, each participant will be encouraged to reach a greater awareness of their working tool, the body.

Once individuals will become more aware of themselves, a greater attention will be given to the relation between the self and the others, encouraging connections and exchanges within the group.

Finally, taking advantage of the specific location chosen to host the workshop and bringing awareness towards all the stimulus the space around offers, the group will be encouraged to actively explore this context, gaining out of it some bodily communicative and fully aware material. On the last day, an audience will be invited to witness the result of the research.
